Thank you for visiting the website. The story begins when…I returned from majestic Colorado to the Northwoods of Wisconsin in 2001 to acquire The Outdoorsman Restaurant & Inn. I spent my summers in Boulder Junction as a child like many others and was eager and thrilled to have an opportunity to return to a place I had always called home.Originally from Wausau, I graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Stout with a degree in Hospitality and Tourism. I spent many years working at a private resort/golf club in Minnesota and that’s where I discovered my passion for the industry. I moved to Colorado after graduation and worked for a national restaurant chain as a Managing Partner. It was my job to open new stores for the company throughout the state. As a young woman, I remember my father joking about moving to Boulder Junction to run a restaurant…never did I think I would be able to realize his dream. My own place where I could do things the way they should be done and provide the kind of experience most of us look for when we dine but rarely find.
My staff and I are passionate about the hospitality business itself but more passionate about creating a fabulous dining experience for our guests. We love food and strive to provide and serve the absolute best the market has to offer. I have worked closely with some of the finest wine fanatics in the area to be able to offer a unique selection that results in something for everyone.
We care deeply about the service we provide whether its bacon and eggs in the morning, a juicy grilled chicken sandwich in the afternoon or a roasted rack of lamb in the evening-your every need will be satisfied. This is what we do. This is what we know and this is what we love. Be our guest and join us for dinner. You can bring a group of friends, a loved one or come alone. We’ll light the fire for you in the winter or cool you off in the summer.
The restaurant is my home and I kindly invite you to come and enjoy a dining experience with us. We will do all possible to make it one that you will remember and treasure. We continually strive to make The Outdoorsman the best restaurant in northern Wisconsin to enjoy amazing food, incredible ambiance and a wonderful time with friends and family set against the backdrop of the beautiful Northwoods.
